Read if you want to save money

A couple weekends ago I went out with a few friends and saw The Boy. Being the hard critic of scary movies I am, I went into this movie not expecting much of it.

Sitting through the first hour and ten minutes was pretty bad. It was pretty much what I expected out of a PG-13 movie. A few jump scares here and there that really were not scary at all. Then just a lot of story. Nothing I would suggest going out to see for 12 dollars. It slow moving and un-interesting. They could have made the first hour and ten minutes just ten if they wanted too. Just boring and uninteresting.

Although in the last 20 minutes of the movie, it took a turn I didn't expect. It actually got interesting in a plot twist I didn't think was going to happen. It had crossed my mind once but because the first hour and ten took so long I forgot about it and I was actually surprised. Im not a fan of this movie and I certainly wouldn't go spend money to see it, but it you happen to see it on tv, I suggest just watching the last 20 minutes cause that is the only good part of this movie.

Closing the Loop

This weekend I finally got to watch a movie I have been wanting to watch for a long time. As soon as I had seen the trailer I had wanted to see it but hadn't got the chance. Looper is the name of this great movie I finally got to see.

Looper is a movie that takes place in the year 2044. In the year 2044 there is a selective group called loopers. These are people that are hired by a by a mob in the future that send back bodies they want disposed of through time travel. The body is sent from 2074 to 2044 shot by a looper then disposed of. This is done through the highly illegal time travel in 2074 because it is impossible to dispose of a murdered body. Throughout the movie we follow Joe, who is a looper. We follow his daily routine until his friend Seth, who is also a looper, comes to Joe's house late at night. We find out that Joe has done the ultimate wrong the he could do as a looper.

After doing your job as a looper in the year 2044 you can go on to live your life for 30 years until 2074 when the mob is created and time travel is illegal. Once your 30 years is up they find you and send you back to 2044 to yourself to be eliminated so you won't give up information about the system. This is called closing the loop.

Seth has gone to Joe for help because Joe was sent himself and was supposed to close the loop and retire as a looper. Seth recognized that he was himself and let himself run. This is called letting you loop run. This is the worst wrong doing and Joe winds up turning him in which get both the future and current Seths killed.

After this life seems to go on as normal for looper Joe until he is sent himself to close his own loop. All in a second things go wrong. Joe was going to kill his future self but winds up getting knocked out and from there everything goes wrong as Joe has unintentionally let his loop run.

This movie is fantastic and should been seen by all. Looper is a great action packed movie that has a great plot and really makes you think. Looper has exceeded my expectations and is now one of favorite movies.

I Am Legend

This week I am bringing an apocalypse movie. Yes, I realize that there are so many but i will only talk about the ones that matter and are good enough to get okay by me. This apocalypse movie comes from 2007 and its called I Am Legend.

I Am Legend isn't your average apocalypse movie and I think that is what makes it so good. Actor Will Smith plays scientist Lieutenant colonel Robert Neville. Lieutenant colonel Robert Neville is the only person left in a deserted New York City. Lieutenant colonel Robert Neville is the lone survivor along with his dog Sam after an apocalyptic virus breaks out. A supposed cure for cancer is found and all obviously get the vaccine. This turns out to be the end of humanity for everyone. This causes an airborne and contact virus that most die from it, but the ones who don't turn into these super mutant beings that are animalistic like. Lieutenant colonel Robert Neville is immune to contracting this virus from the airborne way and through contact, all dogs are immune to the airborne. Lieutenant colonel Robert Neville is the last one in New York and seeks to find a cure for these mutant creatures while trying to contact anyone else who is immune like him and survive the night when they come out.

This is an interesting way that the world the world would end and it also seems plausible. The story acting and twists are what make this apocalyptic movie different from all the others. If I had to watch only one apocalyptic movie from here on out this would be the one.

New York to London

This week I'm bringing the movie that I watched this weekend with my best-friend, Non-Stop. I had picked this movie because I had never seen it but my friend had and said it was a great one. Not to mention Liam Neeson is the main actor so you know its going to be a good one.

Non-Stop is a more recent action film from 2014 that takes places in that time on an airplane. Bill Marks(Liam Neeson) is an air marshall that is on the non-stop flight from New York to London. Every gets settled down and time passes before Bill gets a text message from anonymous person on the plane, that read that they want 150 million dollars transferred to an account or they will kill a person every 20 minutes. From there on Bill tries to find this person on board by doing whatever he has to, to save the people on the plane.

This action mystery really kept me guessing throughout the whole entire movie. I really had trouble guessing who it was and that is why this is such a good movie. It keeps you interested and really makes you think and try to figure it out along with Bill. Non-Stop gets the okay from me.

Independence Day

Five days ago I saw a movie trailer that got me going. I am so excited for this sequel, I need to make sure everyone knows about the original first. Thats why this week I am bringing you Independence Day.

Independence Day is on my all time favorite movie list. This epic sic-fi gets you going about awesome America is. The way the movie starts out is on July 2,1996, two days before July 4th. But on the 2nd, everything that could go wrong does. A giant 310 mile alien mothership comes to Earth to start an attack. From that mothership it release many 15 mile wide ships all over Americas most dominant buildings in all the most important cities. Thats right an alien movie, but one of the best ever. This amazing plot takes you through the fight the America doesn't back down from. We get to see the President's and military's actions on how to take down the aliens that have come to destroy Earth. The amazing cast of Will Smith (Captain Steven Hiller), Bill Pullman (President Thomas J. Whoitmore), Jeff Goldbug(David Gevinson), and many more take you through an amazing movie that you need to see before the second.

Finally seeing that there is going to be a second movie made me so happy. Ive been waiting ever since I first saw this movie to see a second. I can not wait for this to come out. I think that they will do a great job in continuing the story and Im looking forward to see how America takes the aliens down once again.

The Interview

This week Im dipping into one of everyone favorite genres, comedies. Who doesn't love to laugh? Thats why im highlighting one of the funniest movies I've scene in recent years, The Interview.

Yes, Im talking about the huge controversial one that was almost not released. The plot of the movie is that Dave Skylark, played by James Franco, a host of an a talk show gets an interview with North Korea's notorious leader Kim Jong-un. Dave and friend Aaron Rapoport, played by Seth Rogan, go to North Korea to do this interview. Before they go, the CIA asks them to do their country a favor in killing Kim Jong-un. From there the usual path of a Seth Rogan film takes on and it follows the hilarious plot of them trying to do so.

This Seth Rogen film takes on the usual comedy track with dirty jokes and references but with an interesting plot line. This hilarious film should be seen by those who love these types of films and anyone who needs a good laugh. The jokes, plot, and overall controversy makes it a must see film on the comedy list

Dont answer the door at 4 a.m

This week I want to bring you another horror flick that will makes it on my list as one of the greats.

The Stangers takes place in a small house in a remote after the two main characters of Kristen and James get back from a wedding reception. James feels as if this is the perfect place and moment to ask Kristen to marry him. Kristen rejects him which put a tension between the both of them. Later in the night, around 4 a.m, they hear knock at the door to which they open. At the door is a woman who asks for Tamara. Kristina and James tell her she's at the wrong house and they tell her to go, to which the woman replies, she will see them later. They ignore the odd comment and then James goes out to buy cigarettes.  After James leaves the woman returns and knocks on the door again but Kristen refuses to open it and that is where the horror begins...

The Strangers brings real events that you think could happen into a story that does. The fear that there is someone out there watching, someone standing behind you, the feeling of uneasiness when alone in  the quiet. All the scared feelings you can relate to are in this movie. The reason its so relatable is because its inspired by true events. I think that gives this movie its real fear factor. You will be checking your shoulders repeatedly while watching.
