Im going to talk about one of my favorite movies this week and one that many Americans love and support, American Sniper.
American Sniper is another one of those movies that makes you proud to be an American. This is the story of Chris Kyle, who becomes a U.S Navy SEAL sniper. Throughout this movie you follow the story of his life. Chris grows up in Texas and learns to shoot as a kid from his father. From there, Chris takes on a career as a rodeo cowboy. Then, Chris comes home from work one night to find his girlfriend cheating on him and while spending the rest of the night talking about it with his brother he sees the news which is talking about the US 1998 embassy bombings. Chris after seeing the event decides to enlist in the navy. Later Chris qualifies to become Navy seal. From there, Chris is sent over to Iraq after the 9/11 bombings. After Chris is sent over to Iraq you follow his story of war and his homecomings and hardships.
Chris Kyle is an amazing person to go and serve our country the way he did. American Sniper highlights and shows people his amazing life and what is really means to serve this country and become a Navy SEAL. If there is ever a movie that makes you proud to be an American and thankful for the people that serve our country it is American Sniper.
This weekend I saw a trailer for the third purge movie, The Purge:Election Year. When I saw this trailer I was very excited based on the fact I like the previous two movies. The first Purge was good and the second one, I thought, was even better. So, I am hoping that the consistency stays and the third is the best yet.
The first Purge movie follows a wealthier family who supports the annual Purge. The Purge is an event that happens every year that allows all crime, even murder, to be legal for 12 hours in order for people to have the release from not doing anything all year long. This is seen as a good thing for America who is a nation reborn, where crime is at an all time low because of this annual event. At the start of this purge we follow the events of what happens to a wealthier family who sells security systems for people who support the purge but do not partake in the event. Everything goes according to plan until the son of the family opens their doors to a stranger who is stuck outside during the purge. This leads to the family getting into a lot of trouble by preventing a group of purgers their kill that they legally have the right to have. This movie was a good one and left the door open for a sequel that could and wound up being better

The second purge movie is called The Purge Anarchy. This purge follows a different path of a bunch of smaller stories of many people that get stuck outside during the purge and wind up crossing paths. I find this purge movie to be the better of the two because of all the action it has. In stead of being a wealthy family in a house, e get to follow the unlucky who get stuck outside or are the victims of being poor and have no security. We get to see what goes on outside during the purge and get behind the rag tag group of people who find each other to stay alive.

I enjoy the whole concept of the purge movies. It is a well thought story that can be taken a lot of different ways. They seem to take it different ways each time and that is what I enjoy about these movies. They have the same backstory but you have a different plot each time. I am excited for the third purge movie, The Purge: Election Year and I hope it is better than the last.
A couple weekends ago I went out with a few friends and saw The Boy. Being the hard critic of scary movies I am, I went into this movie not expecting much of it.
Sitting through the first hour and ten minutes was pretty bad. It was pretty much what I expected out of a PG-13 movie. A few jump scares here and there that really were not scary at all. Then just a lot of story. Nothing I would suggest going out to see for 12 dollars. It slow moving and un-interesting. They could have made the first hour and ten minutes just ten if they wanted too. Just boring and uninteresting.
Although in the last 20 minutes of the movie, it took a turn I didn't expect. It actually got interesting in a plot twist I didn't think was going to happen. It had crossed my mind once but because the first hour and ten took so long I forgot about it and I was actually surprised. Im not a fan of this movie and I certainly wouldn't go spend money to see it, but it you happen to see it on tv, I suggest just watching the last 20 minutes cause that is the only good part of this movie.
