Charlie Grimille

Thiller and horror movies are probably my favorite movie genre out there. On that note I've seen just about just about everyone out there from A-Z produced by Lifetime or the big screen companies. I find myself searching for the best ones out there, finding most now a days to have the same basic plot line in which I can predict what is going to happen. Every once and a while I will find one that I truly liked and can talk honest about. The Gallows is one of those.

The Gallows takes place in 2013 at Beatrice High School in which the drama department is putting on the play called The Gallows. This is the first time they are putting on the show since the tragic event in which a student by the name of Charlie Gimille was accidentally hanged during the first showing in 1993. The movie follows Reese Houser, an actor in the play, from the unique perspective of his friend Ryan Shoos' camera. Ryan finds out that the only reason that Reese is doing the play is to get close to Pfeifer Ross, the lead female role in the play. Ryan convinces Reese that he can't go on because he is a bad actor and that he can get close to Pfeiffer after the plays finished. Ryan, his girlfriend Cassidy and, easily convinced Reese go to the school at night to destroy the set so the play can't go on. While doing this they happen to run into Pfeifer. Upon trying to leave because they can't destroy it while Pfeiffer is there, they run into trouble. They find themselves stuck in the school trying to get away from Charlie Grimille.

The Gallows is a great movie. Its a horror filled with suspenseful jump scares and a unique perspective from the camera of the main characters. The Gallows has a great story with a great ending that wraps everything up and makes it satisfying. The Gallows has the pass by me for the horror department

The Wolf of Wall Street

Jordan Belfort. That name is known to all for what he did in the stock world and becoming unbelievably rich in a not so legal way. The Wolf of Wall Street tells of his story.

The Wolf of Wall Street is an amazingly serious, funny, action, and motivational movie about Jordan Belfort. Jordan at the start of his carrer goes to work on the stock market on Wall Street. When he loses his job due to the infamous day known as black Monday. After losing his job Jordan takes his smarts to another firm that specializes in penny stocks. From there Jordan leaves and befriends Donnie Azoff who then start the amazing journey of their own firm in the name of Stratton Oakmont Inc. In that firm Jordan builds it until it its brining in so much money that he doesn't know what to do with it. Then the downfall of the firm comes from the illegal work that they did to become so wealthy. The Wolf of Wall street tells of this amazing story of a powerful mind and how it can work for you in ways you can't even think. Though this was done illegally its still an amazing story and gets you motivated to think a little differently then the rest of the world, and it also wants motivates you to want to become rich.

Frank

Staying with last weeks theme of mind messing movies, I bring you Donnie Darko.

Donnie Darko was and still probably is the weirdest and most mind twisting movie ever. The plot and events in this movie are so weird and messed up you want and need to pay attention. This physiological thriller needs to be watched more than once because off of the first go around you will have questions you want answered, and thats why this movie is so good. It draws you back in so you want to know what happens and when you finally understand it all, you realize how great the movie is and the plot is amazing.

In the begging of the movie you are opened to Donnie Darko a teenager living in virginia with his family. He has been waken by giant monster rabbit named Frank who leads him outside of his house and tells him the world will end in 28 days. when Donnie returns he finds his house destroyed by a jet engine that is unknown where in came from. From there you follow this twisted creepy plot of Donnie and his life thats wrapped around Frank the giant rabbit and his quest to find the meaning and reality of time timetravel.

Yes i realize that makes no sense but that how weird and mind messing this movie is but I promise you that it will all make sense in the end if you truly watch the movie and pay attention. I also think the trailer might help a little. So please do yourself a favor and watch this movie because its a good one that has an amazing plot that you need to figure out

Shutter Island

This week I thought I would get into one of my favorite type of movies, psychological. These are the movies that mess with you mind and really make you pay attention an try to figure things out. One of my favorite movies that does this is Shutter Island.

Shutter Island is definitely one of those movies you have to watch twice. The plot is twisted and things are not even close to what they seem. The main plot is that two U.S marshals,  Edward "Teddy" Daniels and his new partner Chuck Aule, are sent to Ashecliffe Hospital to investigate a missing person. This hospital also happens to be for the criminally insane. Throughout the movie you follow these two marshals on their investigation around the whole island. During the investigation you get twists and turns and flashbacks and information that will ultimately leave you trying to put it all together yourself. At the end all is revealed and it leaves off with a fantastic ending.

After the movie finishes
you have to sit and think about it for about five minutes. Then after that you need to verbally put it together. Thats why its good to watch with a friend. After all the putting together, you feel inclined to watch it again to make sure you didn't miss anything. That is what is so great about this movie. It makes you think and re-watch just to make sure you got it down. Shutter Island is one of my favorite movies and I hope that after you watch it twice, you will too.
